At St. Anne's and Avondale Park we believe that working closely with parents and carers is the best way to enable a child to achieve their full potential. Consequently, we work very hard to foster positive home-school relationships!
There are three formal parent/carer consultations during the time your child is with us - at the end of the first term, when your child becomes four years of age and, finally, during the term before transition to primary school.
These consultations provide good opportunities for us to exchange information relating to your child's progress and attainment and to take into consideration any particular needs or interests.
Staff are always happy to make appointments to talk to parents and carers about any other worries or concerns which may occur from time to time. When your child leaves us, you will be given their profile of development (an important part of their personal history!) and a forwarding record will be sent to the feeder primary school.
The school holds special events throughout the year including curriculum workshops and fundraising events - namely, our annual Summer Fair which is an important date within our local community!
We also hold coffee mornings every half term which provide a wonderful opportunity to meet and get to know other parents and carers and, of course, the staff. Each coffee morning has a specific focus and is designed to provide information on a range of topics. Our coffee mornings are very popular with our parents and carers - tea, coffee and a biscuit or two is complimentary!
On a more formal note, we are keen to hear your views and opinions about us because we want to know how we might improve our service to you! As a consequence, we send out a New Parents' Questionnaire after you have been with us for a half term and we also ask for your written comments when your child transfers to primary school. We read every one of your comments and have made changes as a result of them!
